Hydrogen storage solutions

Fuel tank gas cap

The articles in this category will deal with hydrogen storage solutions. As widely discussed energy source for fuel cells, hydrogen has disadvantages because of its low energy density in gaseous form at room conditions. Furthermore hydrogen is quite explosive at these conditions which causes further problems, especially in transportation. Many ideas for the storage of hydrogen exist. They reach from inflammable liquids containing the hydrogen over high pressure tanks to very cooled down hydrogen. An assessment of existing technologies and an outlook will follow.
